Values in Kindergarten

Respect, Honesty, Responsibility, Solidarity are BDS Kindergarten’s golden values which we foster in the curriculum.  Our aim is that children grow confidently, learning and understanding how their good attitude and actions contribute to a respectful and friendly environment among their peers .

Kindergarten staff plan activities which involve all the children discovering the best way to share school life together. At all times they are encouraged to show consideration for and awareness to everyone: 

• Listening to a peer when speaking
• Solving a problem
• Giving a hand to a peer or teacher
• Expressing feelings 
• Reading stories on values, reflecting upon them and making connections with their own lives
• Taking care of the environment.
• Participating in collaborative school social projects 

We nurture a happy, friendly and caring environment where children feel loved, secure and valued as individuals. We are always close to offer support and to guide them as they develop greater autonomy in solving everyday situations. We encourage them to take responsibility for their behaviour and remind them that mistakes help them learn for the future.

Parents are the primary educators of their children and continue to influence their learning and development during school years . As such, we work in partnership with parents to enrich the children’s personal and social growth. Responsible, kind, honest, respectful children develop good interpersonal skills which are essential for later life. 

Both teachers and parents must be fully aware of the example we set  as children learn from what they experience.

If children live with kindness and consideration, they learn respect.
If children live with fairness, they learn justice.
If children live with honesty, they learn truthfulness.

I want to acknowledge teachers, parents and especially pupils for their commitment to the activities carried out in 2018.  It has been rewarding to see them engaged in the Kindergarten’s project.
